Reform Pedagogy and the Reception of Reform Pedagogy From a New Perspective

The volume “Reformpädagogik und Reformpädagogik-Rezeption in neuer Sicht. Perspektiven und Impulse“ presents eleven contributions, focusing on a receptional history of reform pedagogy. Interesting new approaches and aspects are introduced to historical reform pedagogy and perspectives for future research are illustrated. The volume is based on a conference held at the BBF.

Project Description

Reform pedagogy understood as phase dated to the period before and after the First World War, has for many years been focused by research on the history of education. While the number of thematic studies that deal with specific issues have constantly remained high and even in recent times introductions and overviews have been published, historical research into reform pedagogy itself has not been focused, i.e. the character, priorities but also gaps in historiographical accounts of the period. Therefore, the conference held at the BBF presented and discussed innovative studies with new research questions. This publication contains a selection of respective contributions together with some additionally acquired articles focusing aspects that could not be considered on the occasion of the conference, held in December 2014.
