Specialized Information Service "Educational Science and Educational Research"
The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding a project for a specialized information service for educational science and educational research to expediate and improve provision with scientific literature and other materials that are relevant for research on a national level.
Project Description
Five partners are involved in the "Specialized Information Service for Educational Science and Educational Research", one of them being the BBF. This service aims to contribute to ubiquitous provision of scientific information in Germany, aiming to deliver the desired literature immediately to researchers and scientists in the field of education. Such information services are now being set up to supersede the formerly DFG-funded "Special Subject Collections".
Subject to the information service, the BBF complements its collection of printed sources in educational history, and digitizes items from its holdings upon the researchers’ individual request. The BBF digitizes public domain sources (i.e. the authors died more than 70 years ago) and out-of-print monographs published between 1913 and 1965 in Germany. The digitized copies will be incorporated into the digital library of the BBF, Scripta Paedagogica Online, and thus the material will be accessible to anyone interested.
