Reopening of the BBF on 7.6.2021

The BBF will reopen for on-site use on Monday, June 7, 2021.

We are pleased to announce that the completion of renovations following the vandalism coincides with permission from the Berlin Senate to reopen academic libraries and archives for on-site use. Therefore we will reopen the BBF on Monday, June 7, 2021! The archive and library will initially be open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., though we will have to close for use one more time, on Monday, June 14, 2021, due to a staff training.

Of course, the Berlin SARS-CoV-2 infection protection rules in their currently valid version and the protective measures established by the DIPF continue to apply:

  • Before visiting, we ask you to make an appointment by e-mail or by phone during opening hours, also specifying the books and archival materials you want to borrow or use on-site, in order to avoid waiting times. This is not necessary for books from holdings in the open stacks, which are directly accessible.
